  I recently (fall 2012) went to Boutique 21 to shop for my senior homecoming dress because I was recommended by a friend that the choice, service and prices were really unbeatable. I went there twice, once to look for a dress and again later that week for a fitting. My experience was less than enjoyable. Let me explain: I didn't know the sizes were at the top of the bar and I just happened to be looking at a dress I liked, unknowingly that it was a four (I'm a 10). One of the women comes up to me and says in the rudest tone that I have ever heard for ANY person trying to get my business and said "That's a four." And it wasn't the only time she did it. It happened twice, in the same rude tone. Then, as i was trying on dresses, my boyfriend was standing there waiting for me to show him, literally just standing there, and they yelled at him and told him to get out. For my first experience, I felt rushed and unwanted but I found a dress and needed to come back for a fitting. At the fitting, I came with my African American friend instead of my boyfriend. Once there, the woman doing my fitting acted like she didn't even want to do it. And I later found out once I left that the women working there would not take an eye of my friend. Racial Profiling anyone? Over all, the attitude was rude and snarky both times. I don't know if it's because they're old or what, but I do know one thing. I will NEVER shop at boutique 21 ever again and I will make sure I tell everyone to do the same.
